Update: Tracking All Mutual Fund on Dhan

Hello Investor :waving_hand:

We want to share an important update regarding Tracking Mutual Funds on Dhan.

Since we introduced the Tracking Mutual Funds feature on Dhan, many investors have been using Dhan to track all their Mutual Funds in one place. It helped you view investments across different AMCs, monitor your overall portfolio, and manage your Mutual Fund investments more easily.

This capability is made possible through MF Central, a unified platform built for the Mutual Fund industry (operated by CAMS and KFintech) that allows investors to view their Mutual Fund investments across all AMCs in one place.

Earlier, portfolio data could be accessed using a simple OTP-based consent process.

This process has now been changed to enhance investor data privacy and give investors more control over how their portfolio data is shared with different platforms.

Under the earlier method, a one-time OTP could allow platforms to access the entire portfolio data with the new process, investors must choose what information they want to share and provide consent through a QR code, making the process more transparent and secure.

Because of this enhancement, the earlier OTP-based tracking method on Dhan is no longer supported. We are currently working on integrating the new QR-based process into the Dhan app so that you can continue to Track all your Mutual Funds investments seamlessly.

What this means right now
• External Mutual Fund tracking is temporarily unavailable
• New users will not be able to Track Mutual Funds for now
• Existing users may not be able to refresh their External portfolio data

What remains unchanged
• Your Mutual Fund investments remain completely safe
• There is no impact on your holdings, folios, or transactions
• This only affects how external mutual fund data is fetched and refreshed

Our team is actively working on enabling the new flow, and it will be released in an upcoming app update.

Thank you for your patience and continued trust in Dhan.

Thank you for the update!

Hi @sri1647

We’re working on bringing this back and are aiming to have it live towards the end of this month.

As soon as it goes live, we’ll communicate everyone here and share a simple step-by-step guide so you can easily start tracking your Mutual Funds on Dhan again.

Hi @sri1647
We’re in the testing phase now and will be rolling this out in the upcoming app update.

Please confirm the rollout timeline for this update. The core reason for using Dhan was to track all investments in one place, but this functionality has been non-functional for the last 45–50 days. Although the transaction side is not severely impacted, this is a serious customer experience issue because updated investments have not been visible for almost two months.

Hi @ROHIT_NAGDEO
We’re in the last phase of testing now - this should go live in an upcoming app update, likely towards end of April.

It’s end of April wen can we link external mutual funds???

A sof now all apps have stated linking MF Central QR based upload

Hi @Soham_Roy_Chowdhury, welcome to MadeForTrade

We’re ready to ship this. It will go live in the app update next week in batches

You’ll see an “Update” option on the Play Store / App Store - once you update the app, you can start tracking your external Mutual Funds via MF Central.

Hi @magicpoison @sri1647 @ROHIT_NAGDEO @Soham_Roy_Chowdhury

External Mutual Fund tracking is now live on Dhan.
Please update your app to the latest version (v1.1.0) and re-initiate tracking using the new flow.

Awesome!

Could you please enable the redemption or switching of external mutual fund units? Since closing my Paytm Money trading and demat account, I no longer have access to their platform to manage the funds I bought through them.

Hi @AG001
We’ve added this to our to-do list internally and it is already part of our ongoing development roadmap. :raising_hands:

Until you use MFCentral or own mf cra like kfintech or cams app to redeem the units

Check on MFCentral. Its easy to create a login and if the Mutual funds are SOA, you can raise a request there. As an alternative, if you have the folio number directly go to the AMC and they will give you a form for redemption.
