Introducing: Invest in US Stocks & ETFs on Dhan 🇺🇸

Hi @Pranav1

Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are currently not permitted under the regulated GIFT City / IFSCA framework through which we offer US Stocks. As a result, investments in crypto-linked instruments, including Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency ETFs, are not supported and are not available for investing on the platform.

Hi @pavz

We expect this to be fully rolled out by the end of this week.

Hi @Discover_YOU

It’s good to see you after a while.

  • US dividend taxes are withheld at source as per applicable regulations. To simplify tax filing, we plan to provide relevant reports and statements that can help during ITR filing. We are also evaluating ways to make the overall tax reporting experience more seamless over time.
  • The rollout is currently being done in phases, and we expect it to be available to all eligible users by the end of this week.
  • For fund transfers, all charges from Dhan’s side are displayed transparently in the flow. Some banks may levy their own remittance or processing charges, which are outside Dhan’s control. We have worked with select banks to reduce or waive such charges for Dhan users and will continue expanding these arrangements.

Glad to hear you’re considering Dhan for your US investing journey, and we look forward to having you onboard.

Hi @vinay_rana8727

  1. API support for US Stocks is planned and should be available by next month.
  2. Same-day buy and sell transactions are supported for US Stocks. However, investments are made on a fully funded basis, and margin trading is not available.
  3. Pre-market and post-market trading are not available at present. We will evaluate introducing extended-hours trading in the future.
  4. If US Stocks is not yet visible in your account, the rollout is currently underway, and we expect it to be available to all eligible users by the end of this week.

Hi @jaison

Yes, API support for US Stocks is planned and should be available by next month.

A website is a basic feature of the Internet. Consider it.

Besides, certain things are cumbersome on mobile - like making changes in charts, or drawing trendlines etc.

Can you please inform which bank has waived such charges?

I have account with Axis bank as well as ICICI bank.

I selected Axis bank when signing up. Does it have charges waived off?

Or otherwise how to change bank?

Absolutely. I dislike using mobile for investing. Small screen and slow to work. Can not multitask when you have multiple DHAN accounts.

Please launch web version.

Hi Mahima, Just to confirm are leverage ETFs permitted under GIFT City / IFSCA framework and is it available on Dhan?

Still dont see the option on my web page or app to invest in US stocks

I have a question. Can we do day trading or scalping on US stocks on Dhan?

Can we go short or only long?

Better trade in Indian stocks only :joy:

Adding alert feature direct on the chart will be good. Right now, we have to go back to the stock page and set an alert there

Hi, I don’t have access to U.S. stocks on Dhan. Could you please tell me how to enable it?

Technically, it looks like this should be possible since leveraged ETFs are supported (as mentioned in the recent Reddit AMA).

So if I want to take exposure to Nasdaq (via QQQ):

  • Long → use TQQQ

  • Short → use SQQQ

This effectively allows directional exposure using leveraged ETFs instead of derivatives.

Would be great if the team @MahimaShah can confirm if this is indeed the official stance on leveraged ETF support on Dhan, and whether there are any restrictions (like ETF eligibility etc.).image

@shanmukhananda only individual accounts are supported for US stocks investing on Dhan right now.

Can we trade during the pre-market and post market sessions of US stock market?

Hi @ppandya7773

Currently, trading in US Stocks is available only during US market hours. If the markets are closed, you can place an AMO, which will be sent for execution once the market opens.

Dhan won’t provide web version for MFs and US stocks for at least a year. At least it seems so.
