Dear Investors,

It’s been a few months since we introduced Lending of Stocks via SLBM on Dhan, and provided an opportunity for investors to get passive income by lending stocks in their demat holdings for a short period of time.

Lending of stocks via the SLBM framework has been available to all Dhan users, on Web & Mobile for a while now. The entire SLBM market is driven by supply & demand, and to help everyone track such SLBM trends, we introduced the same on SLBM Insights on ScanX.

With passing time, we’ve also seen remarkable engagement from many of you who have activated, lent, or borrowed stocks, and are actively exploring the platform. Your enthusiasm, feedback, and suggestions continue to help us shape a better investing and trading experience on Dhan.

To further simplify your SLBM experience, we waived off the brokerage fee of 4.99% + taxes on Lending & Borrowing of Stocks on Dhan. This offer applies to all lending and borrowing transactions, irrespective of value or number of transactions, and is valid till 31st December 2026.

Today, to further drive even deeper adoption of Lending & Borrowing via SLBM, we’re also waiving off the one-time activation fees for SLBM. So whether you’re activating for the first time or getting started today, there’s zero cost to get in. This means you can take advantage of Stock Lending with even more flexibility during this period.

This is a great opportunity to dive deeper into stock lending, understand the segment better, and start lending out your portfolio to make the most of it.

Please note, if you are not yet a user of Dhan and would like to avail the benefit of free SLBM activation - ensure that you select the SLBM segment activation right when you open the account with Dhan. In case, the segment has not been activated, you will incur a small charge of INR 100 + taxes towards modification of segments as we will require eSigned documents for SLBM activation. Having said that, just a gentle reminder that enabling DDPI is mandatory for SLBM as it helps us ensure smooth depository transactions when you are lending / borrowing stocks.

We heard you, and we have some great news! :tada:

We have now waived off the one-time SLBM activation fee — so whether you’re activating for the first time or getting started today, there’s zero cost to get in.

And if you missed our earlier update, we had also waived off the brokerage fee of 4.99% + taxes on all Lending & Borrowing transactions on Dhan. This applies to all transactions irrespective of value or volume, and is valid till 31st December 2026.

So to summarise what’s now free:

Thanks for the update — really appreciate the SLBM activation fee being waived, and the 0% brokerage on Lending & Borrowing till Dec 2026 is a great move. This makes it a lot easier to actually try out stock lending.
