Now Live: Conditional Orders on Dhan Charts with a New Alert Experience

Hello Traders,

Dhan Charts has always aimed to provide one of the most comprehensive charting experiences for Indian traders - whether through data enhancements like India-specific Timeframes and Second-Level Intervals, or analytical tools like Option Chain, OI Profile on Charts and market Replay, or core trading features and capabilities like Scalper Mode and Trade Plan.

We also understand importance of data & faster deciphering of exchange ticks on the charts, which is why we introduced 20 Depth (L3 data) on Charts and later pushed the envelope to show full-market depth (200 Depth Level) for NSE Equity and F&O on Dhan Charts.

From time to time, Dhan has also re-architectured our charting components, and increased the underlying infrastructure to offer faster load times for charts, across all its platforms.

One of the most critical elements of any trading setup built around charts is the alert system. Alerts have evolved into the default way to track instruments and define conditions that drive trading decisions. By nature, alerts must be accurate, real-time, and flexible - so they can adapt to every setup a trader wants to monitor.

At Dhan, we introduced Alerts directly on Charts in August 2024 to make alerting seamless and accessible. We further enhanced this by adding Technical Alerts, enabling traders to track setups based on their strategies. Today, thousands of Dhan traders use alerts actively, placing millions of alerts that trigger every second.

This adoption has pushed us to continuously improve the alerting experience. Alerts are no longer just for tracking markets - they are about acting on them. Every alert notification leads to deeper analysis, chart checks, and often, trade execution. And today, with Market Alerts by Dhan, we are taking a step forward - towards automating this entire journey.

Now Place Conditional Orders on Dhan Charts

One of the most common actions after an alert triggers is placing an order - because the alert signifies that your defined level or setup has been met. In simple terms, it’s time to act.

With this update, you can now attach an order directly to any alert you create on Dhan Charts. This means you no longer need to manually place trades after an alert is triggered - Dhan takes care of execution for you.

You also get complete flexibility to place orders across instruments and exchanges, irrespective of where the alert is set. This unlocks powerful cross-instrument strategies. For example, you can trade HDFC Bank based on Bank Nifty levels, execute Nifty Options based on Nifty price movements, and much more.

Get Webhook Updates for Alerts

For users leveraging webhooks, Dhan Charts now supports real-time webhook updates for alerts.

No matter your workflow or strategy setup, you can receive instant alert triggers directly on your webhook URL. This allows systematic traders to simplify their infrastructure - eliminating the need for separate alerting or calculation systems - and act directly on Dhan Alerts.

Along with this, we are rolling out a more intuitive and simplified interface for setting up alerts on charts for all Dhan users.

We are also continuously working to make alerts more comprehensive - expanding technical parameters and increasing instrument coverage. With the addition of Conditional Orders and Webhook support, traders can now move towards a more systematic and automated trading setup with ease.

Conditional Orders are part of how Dhan Charts has been growing into a place where you can analyse, alert, and execute without switching between products. A lot of what’s shipped on Charts over the past couple of years has come from conversations right here on the forum. If Conditional Orders fit how you trade, here are a few related Dhan Charts launches worth knowing about:

  • Charts Library Update with New Technical Indicators — the regularly-updated indicator library inside Dhan Charts, with new indicators added based on what traders here ask for. Worth checking back on every few months — most additions are direct responses to community requests, so the library keeps getting closer to what active traders actually use.
  • Technical Alerts on Dhan Charts — set alerts that fire when chart-based conditions are met, like a moving average crossover or a price breaking a level. Pairs naturally with Conditional Orders for traders who want the alert and the execution to happen together rather than separately.
  • Webhook Alerts on Dhan Charts — fire orders directly from chart-based webhook alerts, with no manual intervention in between. Useful if you’re running rules from TradingView or external strategy tools and want them executing on Dhan automatically.
  • Latest News and Corporate Actions on Dhan Charts — live news and corporate action data layered directly inside Dhan Charts. Helps you spot when a price move is reacting to news rather than just technicals, without having to pull up a separate news feed.
  • Option Chain on Dhan Charts — the full Option Chain now native inside Dhan Charts, so you can read positioning context without leaving the chart. Particularly useful when setting conditional orders on F&O instruments and you need strike-level data right there.
  • Buy & Sell Directly from Option Chain on Charts — place option orders straight from the chain inside Dhan Charts, without bouncing through extra screens. Closes the loop between spotting a strike and executing the trade.
  • Instant Orders + Trade Directly from Dhan Charts — fire orders straight from indicator signals on charts, with the order panel staying inline. The execution side of what Conditional Orders automates.
  • MTF on Dhan Charts Console for Swing Traders — use Margin Trading Facility directly from Dhan Charts, so you can swing-trade with leverage without switching products. Useful if your conditional orders are also positions you want to hold across days.
  • Feature Updates: Dhan Charts is Now Much Better — a packaged round of Dhan Charts upgrades shipped together. Worth a scan if you haven’t been on Charts for a while — covers timeframes, drawing tools, layout improvements, and more.

As always, we would love to hear your feedback on how we can make alerts even more powerful and intuitive for your trading needs. We are constantly listening and building - so you always have the right tools to navigate evolving markets.

Happy Trading!
Hardik

When alert on chart feature will be available on dext

This is a special one for us.

Alerts and conditional orders have been among the most discussed topics on MadeForTrade — across 400+ threads over the last three years. Many of you didn’t just request this feature. You described exactly how it should work, debated the edge cases, shared workarounds, and kept the conversation going even when it took time. That kind of persistence is what makes this community the backbone of how Dhan builds products.

A few members whose voices were especially loud on this:

@Pradhan — your thread on GTT updates became one of the most-read feature requests on MadeForTrade (4,100+ views, 35 replies). You kept pushing. It mattered.

@Vaibhav — your ALERT FEATURE thread with 32 replies helped shape the thinking on what alerts should become.

@Puru — you asked specifically for conditional orders for option traders, including cross-instrument use cases. That’s exactly what’s live today.

@nitishbangera @RajeshK @yogesh86k @Indian_Trader_007 @hachiko @Shally @kckittu @paresh @Ravinder_Sharma — thank you. Your contributions across multiple threads on alerts, webhooks, and order triggers are part of why this feature exists today.

Would love to hear from all of you:

  1. What’s the first conditional order setup you’re planning to try? Cross-instrument strategies, or keeping it simple with price-level triggers on the same instrument?

  2. For those of you using webhooks — does this simplify your current setup, or does it open up something entirely new?

This community shapes what Dhan builds. Every feature request, every detailed reply, every “this is what I actually need” post — it reaches the product team, and moments like today are proof. Keep the ideas coming. We’re listening.

Hi @Barun_Mahajan, welcome to MadeForTrade!

We are already live with conditional alerts on T3, we are currenlty working on showing alerts on charts as well which is expected to be live by end of this month.

Dear Dhan Support Team,

I am a regular user of your platform and would like to report a few important issues I am facing while trading.

**Client ID: 1104563387**

**1. **Averaging of Trades (Futures & Options):**
Whenever I take multiple trades in the same contract (same strike price or futures instrument), the system automatically averages the position. Even after closing a trade and re-entering the same contract, it gets merged instead of being treated as a new trade.

This creates the following problems:

* Difficulty in tracking individual trade profit and loss
* Delay in understanding actual realized P&L
* Confusion during intraday/scalping trading

I request you to kindly provide an option where each completed trade is treated as a separate position or guide me if there is any feature to view per-trade P&L clearly.

  1. **Super Order – TP/SL Amount Visibility & Live Update Issue:**
While using Super Order, the chart/order panel shows only quantity, but the **Take Profit (TP) and Stop Loss (SL) amount is not clearly visible**.

This creates the following challenges:

* Unable to understand exact **risk and reward after placing the trade**
* Difficulty to **quickly verify TP/SL amount during live trading**
* When TP/SL levels are modified on the live chart, the **profit/loss amount does not update dynamically**, making it hard to understand how much profit or loss will occur

I request you to please enhance this feature so that:

* TP and SL amount/value is clearly visible along with quantity
* Profit/Loss amount is shown based on TP/SL levels
* Any changes in TP/SL on the live chart dynamically update the corresponding amount (so traders can clearly see expected profit or loss in real-time)

These improvements will significantly help in better risk management, faster decision-making, and overall trading efficiency.**

Looking forward to your support and resolution.

Thank you.

Best regards,
Md Husseb

Hi @delta_demo, welcome to MadeForTrade!
Thank you for sharing such detailed feedback and explaining your use case clearly.

We’ve noted your suggestions regarding:
• Separate trade-wise tracking instead of averaged positions
• Better visibility of TP/SL amount and risk-reward in Super Orders with projected profit/loss when TP/SL levels are modified on charts.

These inputs have been shared with our team for further evaluation and enhancement discussions.

Thanks to Dhan team :raising_hands:t2: to brought this good feature to us.

The conditional alert is much needed, for example if someone doing index options trading and need to set target and SL Based on Index price level means it will much useful and conditional alerts we can use it in much more ways as well :star_struck:

This is really good and it would solve most of my scenarios. Now there is only 1 thing in alerts which i had wished for earlier i.e. Ray alerts. As my entire setup is on alerts, adding Ray alerts would plug the gap.

Where is the set super order option. Can you add. As a trader, we must have SL option also.

@Hardik @RahulDeshpande @Dhan Now I think there is another angle to the usage of this feature. Most users won’t ideally keep money in the trading account and hence the set order functionality should have another behaviour where it triggers a sell on a Liquid ETF or another ETF which can help trigger the current order. Something that Dhan can think about to make this feature seamless and attractive.

Indeed a nice addition

This is huge! We can now use normal alerts for tracking and auto-execution for final entry. Makes the process so much cleaner. Great work @DhanTeam!

Thank you, DHAN team, for introducing Conditional Orders. Two additional features that would add tremendous value for serious traders:

  1. Change in Open Interest (OI) Horizontal Bars on Index Charts in T3

    • Visual representation of call/put OI changes directly on the chart for better decision-making.
  2. Profit Protection with Kill Switch

    • Adding PROFIT PROTECTION to P&L exit allow traders to lock a portion of their running profit instead of giving it all back.

Hi @nitishbangera, that’s an interesting use case and a thoughtful suggestion.

We’ve noted your feedback on extending conditional triggers. We’ll discuss the feasibility of such workflows internally.
