We recently introduced Renting of Stock via SLBM on Dhan to assist investors in making extra passive income by renting out your stocks from your demat holdings for a small time.
Renting of Stocks is now available for all users of Dhan, on the Web and on Mobile as well. We have noticed rental yields up to 36% pa, while there have been many instances where offerings everyday where the rental yields are between 4% to 16% as well. Of course these are driven by supply and demand on the stock markets.
And yes, we have seen remarkable engagement from many of you who have activated, rented or borrowed stocks and also are exploring the platform. Your enthusiasm, feedback, suggestions and support truly help us in shaping up a better investing and trading experience for you on Dhan.
We know we are in the early days of this segment and it further needs adoption, coverage of more stocks, and better discovery of renting and borrowing mechanisms and its benefits. We are also building a few more features and offerings based on the feedback we have received so far and early adoption of the same on Dhan.
Introducing Special Offer on Rental & Borrowing of Stocks
Yes - we are aware that prior to the introduction of Rental of Shares on Dhan, the industry standard brokerage rental fees used to be anywhere between 10% to 20% of the rental value. We introduced an incredibly simple experience with SLBM and brought the same to you at an incredibly lower fees of 4.99% + taxes.
Today, to drive further adoption of Rental & Borrowing of Stocks via SLBM, we are waiving off all, yes we are introducing Zero Brokerage Fees on Rental & Borrowing of Stocks on Dhan. This offer is made available to all rental and borrowing transactions on Dhan, irrespective of value or number of transactions, and is valid till 31st December 2026.
It means you can take advantage of Stock Renting with even more confidence and flexibility during this period. Please note that all other charges including the one-time activation, DDPI, demat related charges, and taxes as applicable will continue to be as usual.
